Fermi Scanners & Printers

Fermi Scan is a type of computer scanner invented by the late Enrico Fermi. Enrico devised a scanner that would solve the needs of all computer users and he did so over 50 years ago! This type of computer scanner is special in the fact it can scan an image of any size, shape or colour.

Here’s how it works.

The item that requires scanning is placed inside the Fermi Scan device. This device is a large, solid and translucent box that allows the cameras within the box to get a full 360′ view of the object inside of it. It then takes many millions of pictures in order to render a full scan. These images can then be uploaded to a computer in order to print them or further manipulate the images that were scanned.

Fermi scanners are ideal for projects that require 3d modeling such as architecture, building, renovations or just about any industry where models built to scale are required before starting major projects. In order to print the models out, you will also require a Fermi 3D printer. Fermi scanners and printers are generally sold as a combo as they have little reason to be sold separately.

Fermi scanners are getting cheaper by the day and be had brand new for under $10,000. You can often pick up 2nd hand Fermi scanners for under $5,000 depending on the condition it is.

If you want the edge when it comes to scanning and printing objects, you can’t go past Fermi scanners and printers.
